 I received my BS in Nursing from Illinois Wesleyan University and my Masters in Counseling from Western Illinois University.  I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Iowa and have been in private practice since 1991. I practice with Family Counseling and Psychology Center in Bettendorf, Iowa from a Biblical perspective. I work with, respect and honor persons of all faiths or of no particular spirituality.

My Imago Story

I was introduced to Imago when a dear couple, mentoring our daughter, shared that their marriage had been greatly impacted after attending a weekend workshop based on the book, "Getting the Love You Want" by Dr. Harville Hendrix and his wife Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt. I immediately went out and bought the book and as I read it, I had so many "light bulb moments", not only for working with couples in therapy but in my own marriage.  It made so much sense.  I was so taken, two months later I began the training and certification process  through the Imago International Institute to become an  Imago Relationship Therapist.

One of the requirements for training was to attend a "Getting the Love You Want" weekend workshop with my husband.  For the first time we uncovered the reasons for the ongoing cycle of frustration and conflict in our relationship and came away with a new understanding and new tools that have truly transformed our relationship.  It was so impacting, I wanted to become a workshop presenter and bring this information to as many couples as possible.

It is a blessing to see couples begin a new journey towards a deeper, mature love and experience healing and growth. The greatest joy of all is that my husband Tim and I put on the workshops together, he as my tech support! Tim and I celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary this year and have three grown children.
